Two Trees

2019, wood, steel dimensions variable

Parts of collapsed trees found in parks in the Hague fitted with steel feet. 1-4: ‘Tongue,’ originally part of a much larger tree trunk. One side was cut, shaved and sanded while the other was left untouched, revealing where the bark used to be. The bottom was fitted with hammered sheet metal. 5-7: ‘Tower,’ a thick branch, the upper half of which was cut and burnt with a propane burner. It was given a steel stand
